Ivar's update

Ivar's update

As I wrote earlier, Ivar really got on my nerves, and I decided to put him away for a while and, potentially, let the character go altogether. So I hid him away and paid attention to my own reaction. To my surprise, I actually missed that odd dude...

Ivar was one of the first BJDs I ever bought, and he was one of the seven dolls that traveled across Europe with me. I guess I'm attached to him in some way. I like seeing him hanging out with the other dolls, and when he's gone, something feels missing.

I think Ivar has been with me for so long that I can no longer imagine the band without him. Looks like he's staying after all... what a stubborn guy.

He will stay as a floating head for now. I feel like this compromised decision feels more comfortable for me.

For some reason, i don't want to rush to buy him new body. Maybe it's overall tiredness of Ivars constant work-in-progress status, or overall amount of my dolls. My two shelfs are full and i don't want to clutter them even more.

The other reason that i think maybe Mecha Angel body that he's possessed before will be better used with original head which is Soom Rex.

(Rex is whole another story. I've thought he could work as an option to change Ivar's sculpt, and no - it didn't work. They are very different.  But. From collectors perspective i do love to have one of Mecha Angels presented among my folks. I'm not sure yet what to do, as he's a bit different stylistically from all of them.)

Returning to Ivar, I've also gave him a new faceup and turned him back into a brunette with chestnut-brown hair. This time I leaned into the idea of him being a more simple, down-to-earth guy, and probably younger than I'd previously imagined him.

The faceup itself isn't great quality, but we'll try living with it for a while and see how this vision will grow.
