About Ninni

Here's Ninni. Ninni is my one and only blind box bjd.

She is a Penny’s Box Dreamlike Tea Party Field (Yuán Yě), from the first centaur series that came out in 2023. I bought her in 2024 out of curiosity - to see what a blind box bjd looks like and how it feels. I didn't do anything with her for two years, but lately decided to work on her like on my other dolls. After all, she's also a bjd, isn't she?

Her original design was cool, but too 'noisy' for me. So I got rid of her wings, tail and molded hair and gave her a handmade wig. Her dress was exceptionally well made, but not what I'm looking for for my dolls. I will update her outfit later, and maybe - ideally - do a new faceup. I much prefer her modded look.

(I hope I won't ruin her with my repaint, as I'm not familiar with customizing plastic bjds. We'll see.)

Still, for me the material feels different from resin, but I'm not against it. It's just different, but it's okay.

I don't mind blind box bjds. I usually don't like overly anime aesthetics and molded hair, but I think they are a part of the bjd hobby and one of the ways the hobby has evolved, so to say. They have their niche, and it's interesting to observe new materials and style diversity coming to the hobby. I like that new community spaces usually accept a wider variety of bjds.
